Art
Etiquette Lesson for today. For All, when an Artist invites you to an
art opening, it's not because they are looking solely for sales, they
are wanting to see you, to share with you their latest creations that
they have worked diligently on and are excited to share their visions
with the rest of their friends. If you are on an invite list, consider
yourself very blessed to have a friend who cared enough to send you an
invite. To good artists that care deeply about their "Children", i.e.
their originals and what home they go to, you are considered a friend,
not just a sale or client. Artists aren't looking just for sales, they
need your support by simply showing up, saying hello and staying to have
some wine or horderves that are offered. It's just like being invited
to a party. Even if you can't afford to buy anything or even if you
simply don't like their latest work, you just might tell a friend who
will like it and they will be grateful to be invited to a cool social
event. Also, when you accept to come out and support the artist just by
showing up, it helps the show look better. If you decline an invite
please give a reason why as it is also considered good manners or if you
are tired of being invited; please let the artist know that you want to
be removed from their mailing list. Artists like most people need to
have a good count of who they can count on to show up. Also, if you want
people to support your business, you need to help support theirs.
