New Castle Painting - Varients

Good evening. I just finished working over the past couple of days to create this new image using Photoshop paint tools and a Wacom Cintiq. I meticulously painted the castle and surrounding using various brushes in Photoshop. This is what I've created so far and I'm having a hard time deciding which one I like better. It would either be the colorful one or the less saturated piece. Let me know what you think if you are reading this blog. I would appreciate it!

  1. Chris try a gradation between the two, overlay one on top of the other and blend them together in subtle areas so the reds are used as middle tones and some highlights it adds a slight bit of color to the monochrome with a limited palate

  2. no contest, the top one is better... looks like the first rays of sunrise; the redder one is just too much red

  3. Cool! Thanks for all the comments and I will continue to tweak. I agree with all the comments and you guys may have just solved my problem! Thank you! I remember what my Art College told us that great art is created by many artists working together. Like the Rudolf comment - that's what I was really going for: A dark Christmas!
